The meeting came to order at 9:25 AM and the minutes were approved by Pat Drapzak and seconded by Fran Gajano. The petition for the beautification of Island Heights that was distributed is wanted back to the council. There is a copy of the International Maintenance Code at the Island Heights borough office. That is the code that was adopted. Leaves can be dumped at the Island Heights borough garage. The rabies clinic will be January 9, 2009 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the borough garage. We will need some help for this clinic. The question came up as to whether or not there is a cat ordinance in Island Heights. We will check with Ellie Rogalski since there is a complaint about many cats on Van Sant and West Ray Avenues. Green Peach said they do not do small projects. We were trying to get them to help with the clean up of the Dillon's Creek by Lake Spring Court. Dental Health is a huge problem in the schools. The Stop Smoking literature will be given out in the school if we are able to get it from the Ocean County Board of Health. We were dropped this year from the list of flu clinics. We hope to be back on the list for next year. Fran Gajano moved to close the meeting and Pat Drapzak seconded it. Sincerely, Patricia C. Bailey, Secretary
